The trip Down Under will follow in the footsteps of William’s early life, as the prince was nine months old when he went with his parents, Prince Charles and Princess Diana of Wales on their official tour of Australia and New Zealand in the spring of 1983.
Kensington Palace’s office released a statement that read, “Their Royal Highnesses have been invited to visit by the New Zealand and Australian governments,” and the tour will mark Kate’s first time to the two countries, while William has seen them three times each.”
The statement concluded, reading, “Further details on the exact dates and itinerary will be issued in due course.”
